CHEKOMBUR SALAD

For onion lovers a popular traditional salad. Do not ask me where the name has come from or what it means, I have no idea! Chekombur is delicious with Gulf seafood dishes especially seafood machbous. Chekombur ingredients are available in every house and it is blasting with nutrition.

1 medium white onion, thinly sliced (130 g)
1 small tomato, finely diced or sliced (optional)
teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon lime or lemon juice ¼ green chilli finely chopped (optional)
½ tablespoon parsley or coriander, chopped
(Serves 2 persons)
1- When you are about to serve the main dish, combine all ingredients, stir, season to taste.
2- Cover with plastic wrap, allow to stand for a few minutes or refrigerate until ready to serve.
